Tunnels, reading books, and a big pancake and egg breakfast. A great way to start off the morning.
A surprise trip to go get the first born a new car seat.
J outgrew his car seat a LONG time ago, so we finally made the trip to get the oldest a booster seat, moved E up to her sister’s old seat, and put the boy in E’s old seat. Here he is getting a taste of what life will be like for him in a MONTH when he turns 1 and can face forward in the car. I can’t believe he’s almost 1!!!
We then stopped at the mall to eat, play, and shop a bit with our gift cards from Christmas. Then home for naps while Brent went to work for a bit. We finished off the night with some pizza and movies. Avery picked out the movie Balto which ended up actually being a fun movie for Brent and I to watch as well. There’s only so much Dora we can sit through =) We were kind of grateful though that the movie was a bit scratched (it was a free movie from Family Video) so it skipped some of the movie and turned a 1.5 hour movie into a 45 min movie. I’m not sure how much longer we have until the kids start noticing things like that! I’m grateful for their naivety right now =)
Avery even led us in family worship for the night =) Well sort of. She started us off, Brent finished us.
I’m so thankful for our family day. We ran into friends who have older kids. As we listened to them talk about taking their kids to various practices and games throughout the weekend, it made me so grateful for the stage of life we are in. I won’t lie. There are definitely moments when I can’t wait for the days when all kids can dress and feed themselves, but I am grateful for this stage of life and the amount of time we just get to be together.
