As I said last week, I’m really studying what it looks like to live like a child of God. This week God has been challenging me to let go of a lot of the control I have. Control over the house, kids, schedule, etc… He’s been challenging me to not just believe that He is God, but to completely trust Him to take care of all the details.
Giving up total control is hard.
But good.
I tell my children to quit asking future questions and to just trust…maybe its time I start living like a child of God and taking my own advice.
Goals:
- Still reading Captivating and a few other books. I’m spending most of my free time getting ready to speak at an event coming up so not doing much pleasure reading right now.
- I’m still getting up in the morning. This morning was my first morning to get up, go running, and then spend time with the Lord before the kids woke up. Up until now, I have been working out mid morning after the little guy wakes up from his morning nap. I think I’m going to have to reverse the order when I work out in the morning and spend time with the Lord and then exercise. By the time I was done running, my mind was already racing, and it was hard to slow down and listen to God.
- I would like to have half of the project I’m working on completed by next week. Its a bit of a lofty goal considering Good Friday/Easter weekend are my husband’s busiest, but I’m going to try.
So here’s a thought. I get lots of emails from people who share their journeys with me, and we chat over email. Stories about what God is teaching and doing in others’ lives are always so encouraging! So if you’re comfortable, would you share some of your journey in the comment section below and encourage everyone who reads this? No pressure all you who like to just read and be anonymous, but just thought I would put it out there =)
